Late Silurian

From about 420-408 Ma, the Late Silurian was the time when life began to venture onto land for the first time. This was the time when the earliest known footsteps were made on land by eurypterids. These early footsteps were preserved on what is now a rock platform in the Tumblagooda Sandstone in the river gorges in the Kalbarri National Park, Western Australia.
