Australia: The Land Where Time Began

A biography of the Australian continent

Barnhouse Neolithic Settlement, Mainland, Orkney, Scotland

Barnhouse Neolithic Settlement, Orkney, Scotland

The remains of these buildings lie 150 metres from the Standing Stones o'Stenness

All that is visible is a reconstruction of the lower section of the village buildings. It differed from the near by and contemporaneous village of Skara Brae in that the buildings at this site were free standing, not covered by walkways as they were at Skara Brae.
