Australia: The Land Where Time Began
Kojonup Sandstone
The silicified Kojonup Sandstone in the Plantagenet Group at Muradup contains plant fossils on the drainage divide. Some plant fossils at this site are Nothofagus, podocarp, and araucanian conifers (including Agathis, a palm (Livistona), fig MORACEAE (Ficus), APOCYNACEAE, STERCULIACEAE (flame trees, kurrajongs), several PROTEACEAE (Lomatia, Banksia and Grevillea, Eucalyptus, CASUARINAACEAE (Gymnostoma) and rushes (Typha).
