Lake Constant Lake Constant is the largest of the inter-ridge lakes along the western margin of Lake Buchanan, a type of lake that occupies the spaces between ridges that formed on the western margin as a result of the wind from the east. There are a number of these ridges, the spaces between which hold water for a short time after rain. Mary E White, Running Down, Water in a Changing Land, Kangaroo Press, 2000
