A biography of the Australian continent 

Lake Tay

This lake is between Ravensthorpe and Norseman in Western Australia. Evidence of an ancient flora from about 5 Ma was found in the sediments of this lake. Taxa found in this flora are still found in the Kwongan Sandplain Flora of the present, that inhabits the seasonally arid southwest of Western Australia. Among the sclerophyllous taxa found are PROTEACEAE  Banksia, Dryandra, Isopogon, Xylomelum, Grevillea, Hakea and Stirlingia.
