Lakefield Basin This is a Permian intracratonic rift basin covering an area of about 10,000 km2 onshore and about 3,000 km2 offshore. It underlies the central part of the Laura Basin. Prior to uplift and erosion during the Middle to Late Triassic, it may have covered a much larger area, including Triassic deposits.
