Australia: The Land Where Time Began

A biography of the Australian continent

Proceratosaurus bradleyi 'The flightless horned lizard', Middle Jurassic, Mitchinhampton, Gloucestershire. England

This species is known only from a single skull. About 3 m long, and the skull was lightly built and had many recurved teeth. These features suggest it may have been a fast-moving predator. Because of the crest on its snout it was believed to be close to Ceratosaurus of the Late Jurassic. Later studies place it in the clade Tyrannosauridea.
