Buckingham Palace, London, England
The palace was originally a large townhouse built for the Duke of Buckingham in 1703, called Buckingham House. In 1761 it was acquired by George III and became know as The Queens's House. It was enlarged over many years and in 1837 it became the official royal residence when Queen Victoria was crowned.
