Australia: The Land Where Time Began

A biography of the Australian continent

Nawamoyn

This site is in the Northern Territory on the East Alligator River plain, where estuarine middens have been dated to between 7,000 BP and 6,000 BP.

Many pieces of ochre, many with use/grinding facets, have been found from a period of time between 30,000 BP and 20,000 BP. (Schrire, 1982; Jones & Johnson, 1985b).
