| Minegenew Area - Northern Perth Basin Locality 24 - Coal Seam Conservation Park. About 28 km north-northeast of Mingenew. Good exposures of the Holmwood Shale, marine and fluvial facies from the Lower Permian, along the Irwin River, in the river banks and cliffs. It includes the type section of the Fossil Cliff Member, type section of the High Cliff Sandstone, type section of the Irwin River Coal Measures and Carynginia Formation. Locality 25 - Woolaga Creek. About 21 km east of Mingenew. Along a creek and hills to the east of the Holmwood Shale, from the Lower Permian, High Cliff Sandstone, Irwin River Coal Measure and Carynginia Formation (reference section) and the Wagina Sandstone (reference section), of Upper Permian age, there are patchy exposures. Locality 26 - Irwin River, North of Depot Hill. About 11 km west-northwest of Mingenew. Exposure of the Yarragadee Formation, from the Upper Jurassic, channel avulsion is shown in fluvial facies that are partly bioturbated in a long riverbank exposure. Locality 27 - Irwin River, West of Depot Hill. About 11 km west-northwest of Mingenew. Exposure of the Yarragadee Formation, of Upper Jurassic age, displaying fluvial facies with fining-up cycle in a cliff section. Locality 28 - Mingenew-Mullewa Road. About 4.5 km due north of Mingenew, in a road cutting about 4 m high and 70 m long. Exposure of the Yarragadee Formation from the Upper Jurassic displaying slumping in fluvial facies. Locality 29 - About 11 km west-northwest of Mingenew. Exposure of the Yarragadee Formation from the Upper Jurassic (type section) near the Urella Fault, on a low ridge displaying fluvial facies. |
